The Tradesman Plumber Limited license does not come with a smaller CE requirement. Six hours before renewal, same as a journeyman, same as a master. Here is what the license lets you do, what it does not, and how the hours fit.

What the license lets you do
A Tradesman Plumber Limited may construct, install, repair, service, or renovate plumbing for one and two family dwellings, under the supervision of a Responsible Master Plumber. You may also directly supervise apprentices on that same kind of work.
Anything bigger than a one or two family dwelling, you may work on only under the direct supervision of a licensed journeyman or master plumber, and direct means that person is physically on site. Not reachable by phone. On site.
What it took to get it, and what it takes to keep it
Getting the license took at least 4,000 hours in the trade and an approved 24 hour training program before the exam. Keeping it takes 6 hours of approved CPE before each renewal. That is the whole ongoing requirement.
Nobody should charge you extra because your license is limited, and nobody should give you a thinner class either. You get the same six hours we teach a master, because the water in a two family dwelling will make a family just as sick as the water in a tower.
Tradesman to journeyman
Most people holding this license are on their way to the journeyman card. Keep the tradesman current while you build the hours. The journeyman exam takes its own approved 48 hour training program, which is a different thing from the six hours you take every year. Our exam prep is next on the build list.
