Medical gas endorsement: two hours, every three years.
The medical gas endorsement carries a continuing education requirement of its own, and it is separate from the six hours you already owe. Two different clocks, running at two different speeds. Here is how they fit together.

The two requirements are not the same requirement
If you hold a Medical Gas Piping Installation endorsement, you owe the board 6 hours of CPE before renewal, like every other license holder, and on top of that you owe 2 hours of CPE every three years tied to the endorsement itself.
They are not interchangeable. The two hours do not come out of the six, and the six do not satisfy the two. The three year clock also does not line up neatly with your annual renewal, which is exactly why plumbers get caught out on this one. Why we care about this one more than most
Ian Martin spent years of his career on medical gas in the field, in the research laboratory and pharmaceutical corridor of Southern California. How much CE does a Texas medical gas endorsement require?

Do the 2 medical gas hours count toward my 6 hours?
No. They are separate requirements on separate clocks. The six do not cover the two and the two do not cover the six.
When are my 2 hours due?

Do you offer the 2 hour medical gas course?
Not yet. The 6 hour CPE course is going through approval first and the medical gas hours are behind it on the build list. Get on the list and pick medical gas and you will be told the day it exists.
